What I Wore on the First Day of School

Hello everyone! It's that time again... I know going back to school is one of the not-that-fun parts of the year, but I always try to make school a bit more enjoyable by putting some effort into what I wear. I'm one of those people who can't work to my full potential if I don't feel great, and I've learned that I feel my best when I look my best. On the first day of school, I knew I wanted to wear a dress because they look really put together, but to me they are really comfortable. yay for no pants! I love this dress because it's pretty flowy, it has the greatest sleeves ever, and I basically look like a flower child when I wear it(which according to fall fashion week is what I should be going for).

From head to toe:

Other necklace: My tried and true Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant

I hope everyone has had a great school year so far!

Have a great day!

Fun in Floral

Hello everyone! In my last post, I mentioned the Kate Spade dress that I bought while I was on vacation. It's so beautiful, but it's quite formal, so today I decided to dress it down a little by pairing it with some slide sandals, a high ponytail, and new bangs.

July Favorites

It been way too long, but hi!! I know I've been very absent ,and lazy, and this post is a week late, but I'm super excited to get back into the habit of posting! Anyway, my favorite month of the year is July because it features my birthday and I don't have to go to school. I've purchased many great products this month, and of course I want to share them with you! So, after a very long wait, here are my July favorites!

1. Origins GinZing Cleanser and Origins Ginzing Moisturizer:

Lately, I've been loving Origins products because they are organic. Since all of my makeup is probably packed with chemicals oops!, it's important for me to end the day with an organic cleanse. First, I take off my makeup with a gentle face wash, and then I cleanse my face with the GinZing cleanser. I think of it like this: why use one product to do a mediocre job at two things when you can use one product to fully do one thing and another product to fully do a different job. I really like this cleanser because it gently exfoliates my face with jojoba beads. After I wash my face, I use the GinZing moisturizer to hydrate my face. Its gel-like texture soaks into my face quickly so I don't get crazy residue all over my pillow while I sleep. These products have been hard at work to even my skin tone and keep my face from being crazy oily.

2. OFRA Bliss Eyeshadow and Highlighter

I received this eye shadow in my July ipsy glam bag and I am so happy with it! It is the perfect bronze/gold shade and it is super pigmented. I've been pairing this with my Stila eye shadow in kitten by dusting kitten all over my lid and then blending this eye shadow into my crease. This eye shadow look stands perfectly on its own, or I can pair it with a bold lip color and it doesn't look super obnoxious.

3. Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain in #11 Rouge Gouache

Can I just say that YSL lip products are the best things in the world?! Every time I walk into Sephora, I have to swipe at least one YSL lipstick on my hand. Finally, I couldn't hold back anymore. I had to buy a glossy stain. I adore this color because it is the perfect pink with the tiniest amount of wine that compliments my undertone. I've worn this color to dinners and it doesn't budge at all. My lips get dry really easily, especially with lip stains, but Yves Saint Laurent finds a way to somehow hydrate and stain my lips. They are a truly magical brand.

4. Essie Nail Polish in Lady Like

For the past few months, I've been obsessed with nude nail polish. After centuries of searching, I've finally found my perfect nude polish. Lady Like is a beautiful taupe-nude that gives my nails just the right amount of color. I've struggled with many nude polishes because most of them lean to the sheer side, requiring half a bottle just for a little color to show up on your nails. This color is very opaque. I've worn this color for weeks in a row and haven't gotten even the slightest bit tired of it!!

5. Madewell Striped Dress

I bought this dress at the beginning of the month when I was in California and I wore it on my birthday. Horrifically, red punch was spilled all over it before I could even make it out of my hotel. So, I did what any other diva birthday girl would do. I went to the closest Madewell store and bought a duplicate dress. Once my family and I arrived back in Texas, the red punch came right out, so now I have two of the same dresses. Luckily, I adore the cut of this dress and I love that it has pockets. This dress is by far my favorite summer dress and now I can wear it twice as much!

6. Kate Spade Floral Dress
While I was in California, my fashionista heart carried me to the closest Kate Spade store. I spent an hour trying on Kate Spade dresses (many apologies to my family). As a birthday present to myself, I bought the dress that I had been obsessing over since I saw it at New York Spring/Summer fashion week. The cut of this dress is so pretty and I think the quality of the dress makes it even more beautiful. I'm so excited to wear this beauty!

7. J Crew Boater Hat

I've taken a lot of fashion risks this year, from bold lipsticks to hats. On vacation, I wore this hat on repeat. I found that I can use hats to dress up and dress down outfits. I also love that my hair can look horrible and my head can still look super stylish. The hat I linked isn't the exact hat I'm wearing, since my hat isn't for sale anymore, but you can go to my 4th of July outfit post to see more similar boater hats.

Have a great day!
